holy cats

So I was in Etsy Find yesterday.

Did you miss me? I was there. Among some great sellers/artists, I was wedged inbetween Maid Of Clay's couples tattoo heart mug and Peoples Couture's chain mail body harness.

This is my first time in Etsy Finds so its kind of an exciting moment. Just like the first time I was on the front page. Its fun! However, this time, it led to many more sales. Which is fantastic! However now I'm going to be busy for the next couple of days. So if you don't hear from me, you don't have to worry. I'm fine.

On a new note, I have a new shirt design out in my store.

If you are wondering why my prices for some new shirts have gone up, I have switched over to alternative apparel tshirts. I decided to upgrade the shirts, since alternative apparel shirts tend to be soft and comfy.

here...

I decided to switch over tshirts to alternative apparel.
So out with the old in the new(ish).
Some of my designs will be gone forever (once they sell out).
But some will still continue to be around.

For example, I am keeping my geek and crossbones design because frankly, I love it too much to let it go.
I am working on some new designs that hopefully will do well enough so that they'll stick around for a while too.

In the mean time, I'm going to slowly start to introduce the new shirts or at least newish shirts.

The shirts I am using are new (meaning I haven't use alternative apparel in my shop previously) but the design has already existed.
Get it? Yeah? No? Maybe?

Well, either way, enjoy.
The alternative apparel shirts are super comfy and soft.

better than

I was never athletic. I'm still not.
I never placed in anything, which always meant I was always placed in the "honorable mention" categories.
You know, the ribbon they give out to the rest of the kids that didn't place in 1st, 2nd or 3rd so that they feel better and can at least bring something home to your parents.

But now, I don't mind at all. Hell, I bask in the idea of being part of the honorable mention category. To me, its better than 1st.
This shirt is dedicated to all those honorable mention kids.

...

I suck as this.
I keep lying to you all (all 2 of you?)
I've been super busy.
But I have gotten some stuff done.
Such as some photos with my friend who was nice enough (and bribed with a free t-shirt) to model some of my shirts.

Enjoy.

Remembering memories

I watched empire records yesterday while making and eating dinner.
I loved that movie growing up in the 90's.
It made me want to work at a record store SOOOOOOOO bad!
Then I was sad because the music store industry is dying and if Empire Records really did exist, it would be struggling to stay alive.
Joe (the boss) would be stressed out much more than he already was.

Listening to the songs was nostalgic.
I also wanted one of those "stu-pid" pins that Deb made.
Which made me want to make a shirt that says that instead.
It probably wouldn't sell.
We'll see.
I also want to throw a 90's music party.
All 90's (early 90's preferable).
"Damn the man! Save the 90's!"

On a different note, I've been lagging on making my ideas come to life.
I have some, but I haven't been doing much about it.
I think I've just been lazy.
I did decide to continue making the Mr. T pillows because who doesn't want to give Mr. T a hug?
I would never pass up the opportunity.
Hugging Mr.T is like floating on a cloud.

P.S- the Gin Blossoms song "Til I hear it from you" has been stuck in my head since last night.

need to

you know what's a funny looking word is?
dreamt.
It just looks funny.
But don't make fun of it.
you'll hurt its feelings and make them cry.

On a different note, I made the tshirt with the woman's face.

I really like it.
I think I may have to go to forever 21 and get some vneck shirts to put the print on for myself.
If you want one in vneck and don't care too much about the quality of the shirt, shoot me a message.
In the mean time, crew neck it is.
And totes soon to come too.

I've got nothing

I haven't written but that's only because I had nothing to write about.
Sorry.

Its been a fairly cold spring and today isn't much better.
The plus side is that when I wake up at 6AM, its actually kind of light outside and the birds are starting to chirp away.

I have some ideas for paintings that I am going to attempt and try to sell.
Basically it was some old stuff that I am realizing I can do something with them.

Also...
I decided to sell this

I also decided to make another set of these
frames

I had 2 extra frames so I'm going to make and then put them up for sale.
Look out for them.

walkin'

Dear Christopher Walken,

So you may not actually want to run for president, but did you know you have a sleuth of followers that would give you their vote?
There are other celebrities that have gone into the political realm.
Look at Arnold Swarchenegger, Ronald Regan, and Jesse Ventura.
I think you have a fighting chance.

With much love,
Me.
Who's a geek.
whatever!

tough enough

I printed this a while back ago but I never got around to taking the photo.
I'm not happy with the photo. My nose looks extra weird in it (pig-like).

Oh well.
I can get really low self esteem about myself.
I'm my own worst critic.
I've been feeling kind of "off" lately.
I'm not sure why, since there is nothing causing it.
I feel so negative.
And some people at work are starting to get to me.
I need positive things.
happy, funny things.

aahhh.... much better.

I also found out I am taking care of my neighbors little black puppy pug, Porter!
He's ADORABLE! He'll snort his way into my heart!

(That's not actually him)

I can't wait!

walkin'

I love Christopher Walken.
He's awesome.
I made a brooch so others can show their appreciation too.
I need to make one for myself.

I also made Mona Lisa with laser eyes, because, well, why not?

Freebie!!
Don't forget to submit reasons why you deserve the newborn shirt!
You have until tomorrow!

Also tomorrow is the last day for my 20% off sale.
There might be a little surprise tomorrow since it will be the last day of the sale.
Check it out!

happy places, sad faces

Went to a roller derby on Saturday which was fun.
I like seeing women go around and try to shove each other off their skates.
One woman who was sitting on a camping chair (in the audience), got a skate to the shin. She didn't even flinch. She was more worried about loosing her purple ball of yarn.

Yes she was knitting.
No I'm not kidding.

I wonder what she was knitting.

Anyway, while I was there, this was staring back at me.
staring back at me

Darth Vader tried his death grip on me but I'm much more badass.
Sorry, my geeky side of me got excited about seeing the Vader mask.

On another note... this weekend I spray painted those tacky gold frames I mentioned on my last posting and got them looking nice.
I then painted directly on the glass and didn't bother putting a back on the frames.
This is the result.

You can see more close up pictures on my flickr page.

May the force be with you.

seperation anxiety

I found some old frames that I didn't really want to throw away.
So I decided to paint on the glass itself.

I have some more frames but I need to paint the frame itself because its a weird tacky gold color.

In the mean time, I have this one.
playing hearts

playing hearts

I'm trying to decide whether or not to do a trade or sell it.
Any thoughts?

This is the full stencil on a tote bag that can be purchased in my etsy store.

I'll be making shirts and stuff soon.

All in moderation

so I hit 100 views
100
I'm not sure why I had to comment on this, but I did.

onto other things...
I saw this little blurb on an airline website. They are talking about service animals and the restrictions with it.
service animal
Notice where it says "except monkeys?"
All I can think of is that I WANT A SERVICE MONKEY!!!
But not one that flings poo.
Just as Amy Winehouse says about rehab "no no no."
Only "no" on the poo flinging.

I was searching for poo pictures and I found this and I just HAD to use it.
Sorry Busy lovers.

Anyway, I have some new shirts.
Actually they aren't really "new".
They have been around. But I just printed them and models them.

Someone who purchased one of angel unicyclist shirts asked me if this was an original or a Banksy.
Unless Banksy has done this before and I didn't know about it, its an original.
I was sooooo flattered.
I definitly don't come near the caliber work or the creativity he has as well as his political and social voice behind all his work.
But it still made my day.
Thanks!

skullz ideaz

Remember that skull picture and I said I had an idea for it?
ideaz
Here it is.
Its something I made for myself.
Not for sale on Etsy.
Unless people are interested.
Then perhaps.

Jealous!?
Hellz yeah.
Smell you later!

yellow umbrellas

So its snowing and crappy and i'm at work.
At first I had no plans on going out.
I was going to stay in, sleep for a while and then do nothing.
But then I felt bad calling out of work.
Damn concious!
Apparently this storm has killed 19 people?
Stretching from Texas to Maine with ice in between.

I'll be getting ice here soon.
Then I'll probably be yelling out "shit balls" again as I narrowly escape brusing my ass or better yet, knocking myself unconcious.

grumble grumble.
No one is here to talk to around me.
They all stayed home.

Here is the view earlier outside my window at work
snow & crap

The areas where there is no snow is due to the heated sidewalks.

My blog seems to be a downer today.
But I did wake up with a headache, snow on the ground, potential ice coming up ahead and now my back hurts.

Blarg!
grumble!
rabble!

maybe I should do some work.
But before I go, remember I was going to do other things with that Colt 45 stencil?
were you paying attention?
Do you really care?
Probably not but I'll show you anyway!
