hard boiled eggs

I LOVE cadbury eggs.
I love the fake sugary insides of the cadbury egg to make it look like the inside of an actual egg (yolk and all).
Amazingly enough, no hydrogenated oils either (I avoid those like the plague and you should too!).
So they are good for me... relatively...
Ok not really.
But whatever, a girl can dream.

I also love my animal masks.
I decided that I needed to revisit/redo some of my etsy pictures of my shirts, so I Incorporated the masks.
Check it out!

and this!

They are so great!

I love the fact that I got mentioned in the suchcoolstuff blog.
They interviewed The May of Teck Club and she mentioned my shop as one of her favs. You should check out her stuff. She is one of my favs too!

And because she mentioned me, I'll also be featured in the blog as well.
Look out for me.
I won't tell you when until the day I'm features so you'll have to stay tuned to my blog and their blog as well.

I love that I am getting a new bag from Moop.
Actually I got it from their site www.moopshop.com.
Its their duffel that they sold out of a while back ago and I was very upset. But they have it back on their main website and I got one!

Ok this is too long already.
I'm probably boring you.
I'll end it on that random note.
Besides, I need to get back to work.

high tide, full moon

New shirt.

I have had this heart theme going on lately.
I'm usually not much of a heart person, which is weird.
But I'm liking it though.

And new ideas for a revamped website.
It hasn't been done yet.
I still have to finish up the design.
I hope it works out.
I'm actually designing it using adobe and then taking it from there.
I'm not much of a graphic design person so it'll be very VERY simple.

my brain doesn't want that

So yesterday wasn't necessarily a bad day.
But it wasn't great either.
It first starts off with the bus I take to work breaking down.
Which then the next bus was jam packed with people.
Luckly I had a seat.
After work I get home and realize it was cold and my dog was shivering.
I go to turn up the heat to find out that its 55 degrees in the house and the heat was not turning on.

The pilot light was out.
And... I tried to light it up again and it wouldn't stay on.
So someone had to come and $150 later, it was all because of a $10 part.
So after being there for a half hour and leaving at 11PM, I finally went to bed with a looming bill headed my way.

on top of that, my dog was sick last night and threw up.
Since she was sick and shivering, I tried to keep her warm.
She looked kind of like this
Carly Burrito

and this
little red riding dog

I was going to take some pictures of a shirt I made but with everything happening, I never had the chance to.

le sigh.

happy places, sad faces

Went to a roller derby on Saturday which was fun.
I like seeing women go around and try to shove each other off their skates.
One woman who was sitting on a camping chair (in the audience), got a skate to the shin. She didn't even flinch. She was more worried about loosing her purple ball of yarn.

Yes she was knitting.
No I'm not kidding.

I wonder what she was knitting.

Anyway, while I was there, this was staring back at me.
staring back at me

Darth Vader tried his death grip on me but I'm much more badass.
Sorry, my geeky side of me got excited about seeing the Vader mask.

On another note... this weekend I spray painted those tacky gold frames I mentioned on my last posting and got them looking nice.
I then painted directly on the glass and didn't bother putting a back on the frames.
This is the result.

You can see more close up pictures on my flickr page.

seperation anxiety

I found some old frames that I didn't really want to throw away.
So I decided to paint on the glass itself.

I have some more frames but I need to paint the frame itself because its a weird tacky gold color.

In the mean time, I have this one.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to do a trade or sell it.
Any thoughts?

This is the full stencil on a tote bag that can be purchased in my etsy store.

I'll be making shirts and stuff soon.

visitation rights

Went to Boston the past weekend with some friends of mine.
It was fun. Its nice to go somewhere with people you have never gone with before.
We laughed.
We cried.
We danced.
We tangoed.
ok... maybe not.
But we did laugh a lot.
And occasionally break out into song.
I don't know why so don't ask.

We went to the garment district which was a lot of fun.
The pile of clothes is something I never expected.
And the man I caught, in a suit, talking on his cell phone, looking all important, standing on the $1.50/lb pile of clothes, created much humor for me.
He had no idea I took his photo.

I was afraid I was going to loose my dog in the pile of clothes so I didn't venture in.

My friend got a gnome mask. I wish we remembered wearing it in the car around Boston.

its fit for a queen

So I went away this weekend to Boston with some friends.
It was a lot of fun but too short.
While I was distracted by my trip, things happened.
First on Friday I found out not one but 2 of my items were in the "related" section of a storque article.

Then on Monday I had my giraffe tshirt up on the front page of etsy!

I was wondering how that shirt had so many views in such a short period of time.

Then etsystalker.com contacted me to let me know that my tote bag was in their online exhibit regarding President's Day!!

I also made a new shirt!

whew!

Happy Birthday!!

Today is Abe Lincoln's birthday. Did you know?
If you didn't, you do now.
I figured it was highly appropriate to mention his birthday due to the fact that I have made many things with his face all over it.

Here are some facts about Abe Lincoln to celebrate his Birthday.
Oh and Happy Birthday Abe!
you are awesome!
- He was 6ft 4inches tall
- He loved playing billiards
- He was the first president to have a beard
- He disliked harming or killing animals. Even for food
- He carried letters, bills and notes in his stovepipe hat (I knew it!)

get ready

So guess what?!
I'm going to Seattle in June!!!!!!!
pike place
I'll be back wreaking havoc on the innocent people of Seattle.
Ok so I couldn't scare a mouse away.
Big deal.
But I'm going to be traveling back to Seattle!!!
This time I am hoping to go down to Oregon for a day.
I'm just so excited.
It makes me want to sing "I'm so excited" aloud.
Or scream.
Or run around with excitement.

In the mean time I'll show you me... in a mask... that I really want.
Because I find it absolutely humorous and a little scary.

enjoy!

All in moderation

so I hit 100 views
100
I'm not sure why I had to comment on this, but I did.

onto other things...
I saw this little blurb on an airline website. They are talking about service animals and the restrictions with it.
service animal
Notice where it says "except monkeys?"
All I can think of is that I WANT A SERVICE MONKEY!!!
But not one that flings poo.
Just as Amy Winehouse says about rehab "no no no."
Only "no" on the poo flinging.

I was searching for poo pictures and I found this and I just HAD to use it.
Sorry Busy lovers.

Anyway, I have some new shirts.
Actually they aren't really "new".
They have been around. But I just printed them and models them.

Someone who purchased one of angel unicyclist shirts asked me if this was an original or a Banksy.
Unless Banksy has done this before and I didn't know about it, its an original.
I was sooooo flattered.
I definitly don't come near the caliber work or the creativity he has as well as his political and social voice behind all his work.
But it still made my day.
Thanks!

I got you abe

I was making a shirt and I got the Sonny and Cher song "I got you babe" song stuck in my head.
I blame you Abe Lincoln.
Its ok though, you are still cool to me.

I know its true

This month is Heart Health Month and so at work on Friday, people can wear jeans as long as they wear something red.
They said to wear a red tie or any other red apparel.
Which naturally made me think of Shaun of the Dead

But I can't really get away with wearing a tie to work.
I'm pretty sure I would get some strange looks if I did that.
But so I thought, I don't really have any red shirts, so what else can I wear that's red? And I do want to be able to wear jeans to work (who doesn't?!)
Well, here is my list of "things that I might be able to wear to work that is red," list.

1. my heart patch.
How appropriate would it be to come in with a red heart patch for a heart awareness function sponsored by the American Heart Association.

2. If not a red heart patch how about an eye patch? a red eye patch?

Ok... Ok... maybe not.

3. To go with the theme of pirates and red things, how about a red bandanna, like Johnny Depp wore in his Pirates of the Caribbean movies?

Ok so no pirates. I get it. You don't have to yell.

4. If I don't have a shirt how about red pants, like Buffy wore.

I can totally pull those off, right?
mmm... so I don't know about pleather either.

5. How about tights?

wait... but then no one can see them under my jeans.

6. How about red hats? Such as a fez?

7. Speaking of more red hats... how about the ones from the 80's band Devo?

8. Ok so maybe some more realistic ones.
Underwear.

Ok so no one would be able to see them unless I wear them, superman style.

granted I'll probably be sent home if I did this.

9. How about some red socks (not the red sox)

But um... just not with those shoes...

10. But speaking of shoes. This I would totally do. If someone wants to buy me these.

11. Or maybe something from the Gap Red line?

hmm... maybe I should just stick with my scarf.
go go gadget scarf!
